“Mechanical Engineering is an engineering discipline
that involves the Application of principles of Physics for Analysis.
Manufacturing and Maintenance of Mechanical Systems. It requires
a solid understanding of key concepts including Mechanics, Kinematics,
Thermodynamics and Energy. Mechanical Engineers use these principles
and others in the Design and analysis of Automobiles, Aircraft,
Heating and Cooling Systems, Manufacturing Plants, Industrial equipment
and Machinery, Medical devices and more."
The Department offers B.Tech degree course in Mechanical Engineering
in Undergraduate level with an intake of 60 students.
The Department has the following laboratory facilities,
1. Basic Engineering Workshop has the facilities for basic training
programme in Fitting, Sheet metal, Welding, Carpentry, Foundry,
Smithy etc.
2. Heat Engines laboratory has advanced test rigs like Turbo charged
engines,CRDI Engines,MPFI Engines, Air Blowers, Reciprocating and
Rotary air Compressors, Fuel and lubricant testing units.
3. Hydraulic & Fluid Mechanics laboratory has facilities like,
