Dr. Rag earned his Ph.D. from National Institute of Technology, Calicut, India, in 2010 following his Master of Technology (2002) from the T K M College of Engineering, Kollam and Bachelor of Technology from same institute (1999). After doing Ph.D, he is focusing on research in microscale and nanoscale heat transfer. He has publications in the field of micro heat transfer in International journals to his credit, including AIAA journal of Thermo physics.

Dr. Rag has teaching experience at various engineering colleges including SCT college of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram, SCMS School of Engineering and Technology, Cochin, and Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram. He was the head of the department of Mechanical Engineering at Travencore Engineering College, Kollam. He has guided large number of undergraduate and post graduate students in their projects.
